In Beddelhausen, on the Hessian border, the trail symbol changes its background colour to black. The route continues to the Edersee.

Turn-by-turn directions
The tour starts at Berleburg Castle, which has been inhabited for 750 years by the princely family zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, and leads past the Nature Park Information Centre with the bison exhibition. From here the path leads up to the Bismarck Column, where you have a wonderful view over the city. Paths, forest tracks and ruts in the rock of an old trade route lead you further into the nature reserves "Hörre" and "Honert". Spectacular trails run over steep paths, huge rocky cliffs and a mystical oak forest to the Eder. We climb the Edertal on the opposite side and overlook the valley. We pass the Wittgensteiner Höhenvieh, which grazes on the hillside meadows, and back down to the Eder. Now the path runs mostly along paths or old fire trails. In former times, these fire paths were used to extinguish the fires which the steam engine had started. More and more often we now have a view of the Eder or hear the rushing of the water. Arriving in Beddelhausen, we take another look at the siliceous slate quarry with impressive folds of dark, fossil-rich rock layers. The route takes us along the old railway line through beautiful unspoilt nature to the Hessian border.
