Traditional markets in Bad Berleburg
Colourful markets in every season
Carefulle and with prudence - we are looking forward to seeing you at our popular markets in 2021.
Traditions and the region are always the focus of the colourful activity. The beginning in May is the Wollmarkt (Wool market). For the time of the market, the sheep which are part of the event, live on the market square and lose their winter fur. In September, the Wittgensteiner Holzmarkt (Wood market) takes place every three years. This is where the wide range of the value chain “wood” is presented. Erntedank and the Brotmarkt (bread market) are celebrated in October, the local country youth club decorate their harvest carts and the baking house communities start their ovens to bake bread. On the weekend for the third advent, the WeihnachtsZeitreise (Christmas market) of Bad Berleburg gives a distinctive spell: the WeihnachtsZeitreise for the whole family starts at the medieval age, goes to the baroque and ends in here and now. Detailed information, picture galleries and contact addresses can be found on the respective pages of each individual market.Have fun!
