The nature park Sauerland Rothaargebirge

With us you can enjoy and explore pure nature on 3,827 square kilometers - corresponding to the size of 537 soccer fields. 60 percent of the area is covered by forest. Our environment is an exciting phenomenon because it lives and changes constantly - just like we do. Go on a journey of discovery and get to know the valuable nature reserves as well as cultural and industrial monuments.

The area includes parts from the Hochsauerland district, the Märkischer district, the Olpe district and the Siegen-Wittgenstein district. Together a total of 43 municipalities, they vivify the nature park.

 

The Mayor of Bad Berleburg, Bernd Fuhrmann, is the Chairman of the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park, which was founded in 2015. A major role are playing the   the six nature park information centers and their jewels!

The Nature Park Information Centers

The work in the nature park is diverse. Each information center has its focus and shows the special features of the region with the help of modern technology and creative ideas. The focus is on environmental education and nature exploration. Visit the nature park information centers in Hemer, Meinerzhagen, Lennestadt-Kirchhundem, Medebach and of course Bad Berleburg - get to know the nature park from different perspectives!
