Wittgenstein
The three communities are about 20 kilometres apart from each other and together with their surrounding villages are home to about 40,000 people. Impressive landscape scenery, outstanding nature, a wide range of cultural and tourist attractions and a strong industry with world-leading companies - all this makes Wittgenstein special.
Two wonderful hiking tours, among other things, connect us: the Wittgensteiner Panoramaweg and the Rothaarsteig lead through all three municipalities. On these paths you can experience the most beautiful parts of the Wittgenstein mountain region.
The people of Wittgenstein are closely connected to their home region. This reflectes their great commitment to local clubs . Whether in ports and shooting clubs, in choirs or in customs and traditions clubs - here, leisure time is mostly spent together and actively. Tradition and customs are very important in Wittgenstein: Every year, various seasonal festivals and theme markets are held in the three communities.
Most of the elderly people in Wittgenstein still cultivate an earlier dialect and enjoy talking "Wittgensteiner Platt".
